Called Shots. You must call out what you want BEFORE the roll. On a natural 20, success. But no instant kill shots. You each only get one called shot attempt per combat encounter.
Natural 20 counts for saving throws but NOT for skill checks. (The rules say they don’t count for either, so I’m giving you one here.) Skills reflect the knowledge and abilities developed over the course of your character’s life. Some characters will simply not know or be able to do certain things, and that’s ok.
Bonus action to drink a potion. Full action to help someone else drink.
We will use a 1-minute timer for each combat turn (one minute for each of you, not total). If you haven’t decided at the end of your minute, your turn is skipped.
Spell Scrolls. If you can cast a spell, you can use a spell scroll. It doesn’t need to be a spell on your class list. If the spell is of a level that you can already cast, it just happens. If it’s of a higher level than you can cast, you need to roll using your spell ability modifier and meet or exceed the spell’s level + 10. Success or failure, the scroll is consumed.
Spell Materials. If it has a GOLD COST then you need to have it. Ex: diamonds worth 300 gold, etc.
Casting Spells. This isn’t a house rule, just a reminder. Nearly all spells have verbal and somatic (hand gesture) requirements. If you begin to cast a spell in front of an NPC, they are going to notice and react accordingly.
Need to roll through DND Beyond. if I can’t see the roll, it doesn’t count.
